Recommendations:
mpiTOO emphasized the importance of creating materials that would resonate with youth and also educated them on the negative side effects of Vaping. Ultimately the “Don’t be a guinea pig” campaign was born.
Tactics:
mpiTOO implemented online focus groups with students to get their perspective on how to educate their peers on the negative effects of vaping. We utilized video, digital ads, bus ads, posters and social ads to tell the story.
Outcomes:
We were able to increase engagement and directly impact students not only on social media but also in the classroom. Posters and video were showcased in an in-school environment. The tactics used resulted in over 1,662,982 impressions to livevapefreeva.org. *
*This campaign was so successful that it was adapted by multiple school systems in Virginia.
